St. Peter’s Higher Secondary School, Dangar, was established in 1975 under the jurisdiction of St. Francis Xavier Parish, Mawsynram. Until 1992, the school was managed by pioneer missionaries under the leadership of the Fr. Varghese Chittoor, Assistant Parish Priest of Mawsynram Parish. Since 1993, it has been under the care of the Claretian Missionaries. The school follows the Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) syllabus. It is located along the Indo-Bangladesh border, approximately 100 km from Shillong, the capital city.
